Cavanna Homes Site Manager crowned Quality Award winner

One of our site managers has received a prestigious Pride in the Job award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) – considered the Oscars of the house building industry.

Mark Wyatt, who leads the team at our Equinox III development on the eastern outskirts of Exeter, is named one of the coveted 2024 Quality Award winners, representing the top five percent of site managers across the UK.

Mark, who praised the support of Assistant Site Manager Rebecca Carruthers, said he was delighted for the whole team at Equinox III who worked so hard to reach and exceed the standards demanded by the NHBC.

“This is definitely a team effort,” he said. “It’s a recognition of all the hard work we all put in – and a sign to house buyers that if they buy a new home at Equinox III they can be confident that it’s absolutely first class.”

The competition is rigorously judged with site managers assessed across six key areas – consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.

NHBC inspectors carry out thousands of inspections with meticulous scoring. Across the country this year 449 winners were selected from a field of 8,000 sites.

Steve Wood, CEO at NHBC said: “For more than four decades, Pride in the Job has underpinned NHBC’s purpose of raising standards in house building. The competition recognises the UK’s top site managers, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence.”

Our Director of Construction, James Stride added: “I am so proud of the whole team at Equinox III under Mark Wyatt’s leadership. He richly deserves this award which reflects the care and attention Cavanna Homes puts into all its developments.”

Equinox III is a development of one to four-bedroom homes and apartments, at Pinhoe, Exeter, close to a 15-acre country park, cycling and public transport routes into the city centre and near primary and secondary schools.

We wish Mark Wyatt the very best of luck as he now goes forward to represent Cavanna Homes in the final round of the competition later this year.
