New charity of the year for Cavanna Homes

We’re excited to announce that our charity of the year for 2019 is Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) and we’ll be supporting them through a number of fundraising activities from cake sales to sporting events.

The charity cares for children with life-limiting conditions and their families, from three hospices in North Devon, Somerset and Cornwall.

Martin Cavanna said: “CHSW is a fantastic charity and many of our employees are familiar with their work. As we operate in the same area, they were a natural fit for us.

“We have lots of exciting ideas to get all our employees involved in fundraising activities”.

There will be a Charity Golf Day at Woodbury Park in Exeter, as well as the Ride for Precious Lives – a 205 mile cycling route between the three hospice locations, not to mention some delicious bake sales!

Mhairi Bass-Carruthers, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at CHSW said: “We are delighted that Cavanna Homes has chosen to support CHSW this year.

“Support like this will make such a big difference to the work the charity does to help families of children with life-limiting conditions across the South West.

“We need around £10million a year to run our three hospices in North Devon, North Somerset, and Cornwall and receive just a fraction of this in government funding – 14 per cent in 2017/18.

“We simply couldn’t do what we do without the support of companies such as Cavanna Homes, whose staff manage to find the time to do incredible things for us alongside their very busy day jobs.”
