A new community of homes in Holcombe adds to award-winning homebuilder’s coastal collection
We’ve officially opened our new development of family homes at Lyme View in the picturesque village of Holcombe, between the seaside towns of Dawlish and Teignmouth, adding to our coastal portfolio.
Lyme View is the first new housing development to be built in Holcombe in recent years and will create a new seaside community of 35 three to five-bedroom homes, with some homes featuring stunning sea views towards Lyme Bay.
The show home opening at Lyme View was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony performed by Councillor Richard Keeling, Chairman of Teignbridge District Council.
The show home is a three-bedroom ‘Weston’ style detached property with a garage and parking, and is among the first house styles to be released along with the three-bedroom ‘Allington’ and four-bedroom ‘Raglan’.
Karen Heywood, Sales Manager said: “These stunning new homes are beautifully finished in red brick and crisp render to complement the village setting and come with contemporary fitted kitchens and the latest heating systems.
“Lyme View is in a stunning location and offers plenty of scenic walks through the countryside or the coast, and is a great addition to this wonderful seaside community.”
Holcombe village has a convenience store, two pubs and a village hall which regularly hosts local events and sports clubs. Lyme View is close to an attractive walk along the South Devon coast path with routes to both Teignmouth and Dawlish, which both have good primary and secondary schools within the Holcombe catchment area. The closest beach is a narrow sand and shingle cove and is a 13-minute walk from Lyme View.
Dawlish Warren is under three miles away and is home to Dawlish Warren Nature Reserve with wildfowl and wading birds, a Blue Flag beach, a golf course and fairground rides, as well as a train station with links to Exeter, Plymouth, Bristol and London.
A recent study from the University of Exeter found that living close to the sea could support better mental health and make people happier.
As part of the firm’s Section 106 contributions, we will be investing over half a million pounds in Holcombe to support transport links, community centres and play facilities.
Cllr Keeling said: “It’s brilliant to have such a significant investment from a Westcountry housebuilder in an important development which will benefit local people seeking a new home, and provide housing for local families.
“I look forward to seeing this development completed and occupied later in the year.”
Paul Furner, Head of Sales added: “We are really pleased to have secured this beautiful location for Lyme View, especially being under an hour from our head office in Torquay, and to see the development come to fruition.
“Holcombe offers a strong sense of community and is a great addition to our coastal portfolio of homes.”
Current prices start at £300,000 for a three-bedroom, semi-detached ‘Allington’ with a garage.
