Oak Mount shortlisted for a top property award
Our new development of 40 homes in Mid-Devon has been shortlisted for a prestigious property award.
Oak Mount, Hemyock, close to the Blackdown Hills National Landscape, is a finalist in the South West Residential Property Awards 2024.
The awards, run by business publication Insider Media, received a record number of entries this year from across the region.
Oak Mount is on the shortlist in the Small Residential Development of the Year category for developments of between 21 to 100 homes.
The development, which has already won praise from new residents including families to the retired, is one of eight shortlisted in its category. The award will be presented at a black-tie event at Sandy Park, Exeter, on Thursday 18th April.
Michael Newman, Director of Land and Design, said: “It is a tribute to the team who have worked on Oak Mount that we have made the shortlist in these prominent South West Awards.
“We all worked very hard to make this development fit in with the existing community and landscape – and it has proved popular with home buyers who have moved to Oak Mount for a range of different reasons. We’re really looking forward to the awards ceremony in April.”
Oak Mount has been developed to make the best use of the site on the edge of the village, with views to the Blackdown Hills. Three hectares of open space was retained for the use of residents and other villagers and will be handed over to Hemyock Parish Council.
The development includes 14 affordable properties and all the homes meet high energy and environmental standards, with air source heat pumps installed in every house.
Grayham Tucker, Group Managing Director, said: “We are so proud of all our developments – and it is really satisfying to get this endorsement for Oak Mount, Hemyock in these highly regarded awards.”
The judges, a group of independent regional experts who scrutinise, assess and evaluate each entry, determined the shortlists and the eventual winners.
