Chancellor’s tax changes will ‘stump growth’ warns Westcountry housebuilder

Cavanna Homes’ Chairman, Keith Miller and its former Chairman and current shareholder, Jeremy Cavanna have joined the inheritance tax debate, warning that business growth will be hit by the Government’s inheritance tax changes, which will impact on family firms as well as farmers.

The pair told Construction News that the reforms to Business Property Relief, (BPR) announced by Chancellor Rachel Reeves in the October Budget, would have a negative effect on its expansion plans and “stump growth.”
