On your doorstep… places to explore in Exeter
One of the many things we love about our Exeter developments is their excellent location. Whether you’re hopping on your bike on a sunny day, looking to stretch out on a beautiful sandy beach or fancy a stroll around the city centre’s super shops, our new homes in Exeter prove you really can have it all!
If you enjoy the outdoors and getting back to nature then you’ll love the 15 acre country park which forms part of our Equinox community and is a short walk away. Perfect for strolling with loved ones or enjoying a picnic, this beautiful area gives you a chance to take a step back from the hustle and bustle, and relax. If two wheels are your preferred mode of transport then you’re also well catered for with many local routes to follow, including one across the nearby Redhayes Bridge, which connects with the city’s cycling network.
Whatever your mood, Haldon Forest Park is an ideal spot for taking in the beauty of the area. With 3,500 acres of woodland to discover, there are a range of walking and cycling trails to follow, as well as outdoor activities such as orienteering to have a go at.
The lively and historic city of Exeter is close by and brimming with things to do. With a wide range of cafes, restaurants and bars to choose from, there’s always somewhere new to try. It is also home to a wide range of shops, from small independent boutiques to popular High Street names. A little closer to home, is the area of Pinhoe, you will find supermarkets, places to eat and a primary school.
For a day out the whole family will enjoy head to the National Trust’s Killerton House, which is a short drive away. Explore the beautiful 18th century house before taking a wander around the landscaped gardens, which are surrounded by parkland and can be enjoyed at any time of the year. If you’re looking for something to keep the little ones entertained, then don’t miss Crealy Theme Park and Resort, an award winning family park that boasts more than 60 rides and attractions, along with entertainment and live shows.
Sports fans, and in particular those who love rugby, won’t need to travel far to experience it live. Sandy Park, home of the Exeter Chiefs, offers excitement throughout the year.
We have to mention the spectacular beaches which are within easy reach of our new homes in Exeter. One of the closest, and one of our favourites, is Exmouth. It’s well known for its long promenade and sands, which are perfect for relaxing on a warm summer’s day. From here, pull on your walking boots and join the South West Coast Path round to Budleigh Salterton, which is another lovely place to spend the day.
You may ask yourself, with all of this on my doorstep, why would I ever want to leave? Well, if you need to, whether you’re off on your holidays or visiting family, the transport links are excellent. The M5 is just a few minutes’ drive away, while the A30 into Cornwall is also close by. If you’re heading a little further afield then visit Exeter Airport, and there are rail links to Plymouth, Bristol and London from the city centre stations.
Speak to our Sales Advisors to book your appointment to visit our Equinox developments on the southern outskirts of the city, or our new community of homes at Cavanna @ Elm Park between Alphington and Exminster. We’re looking forward to welcoming you.
