Property experts are sold on a Cavanna home
Estate Agents and first-time buyers, Jaz Crispin-Vile and Tom Hollox have placed a sold sign on their brand-new Cavanna home at our Equinox II development, in Exeter.
The couple, both 24-years old, decided at the beginning of this year that they wanted to buy their own new-build in Exeter, halfway between their families and close to their offices.
“Over the past year we’ve been splitting our time between my family home in Hele and Tom’s in Ottery St Mary, and it was about time we gave our parents some space!” said Jaz. “We loved the location of Equinox II as it’s close to work and our hobbies; Tom’s gym in Whimple and where I train with my netball team in Broadclyst.”
When browsing the selection of homes at Equinox II the pair were immediately attracted to our semi-detached, two-bedroom Bray home.
“We loved that both bedrooms were designed with en-suite bathrooms and that the house is built with two private parking spaces. We both need our cars for work to get to viewings across Devon, so having parking was a non-compromise for us”, said Tom.
Jaz and Tom first enquired about the availability of the Bray in March and spoke to our Sales Advisor, Kevyn Dixon at Equinox II.
“Straightaway Kevyn was so helpful”, explained Jaz. “We booked an appointment to visit Equinox II that weekend and had a tour of the Show Homes. Kevyn also took us inside a Bray house which was further along in the build process than the one we were interested in.
“We were able to get a feel for the style of the house and knew from the moment we stepped inside that this was the home for us!” said Jaz. “We loved the layout, particularly the open plan kitchen/dining area which has plenty of room for a dog bed for when my family dog Arthur comes to stay.”
The couple quickly reserved the available Bray off-plan and began choosing their fixtures and fittings.
“Buying off plan was the best decision we made and means the house will be exactly as we want it”, said Tom. “We’ve been able to select all our fixtures and fittings and have chosen to have our kitchen appliances, flooring and carpet fitted so that the house is ready to move into as soon as we complete.”
Jaz added, “We were really inspired by the interior design of the 4-bedroom Plym Show Home at Equinox and have chosen a lot of the same fittings.”
Kevyn dedicated a great deal of time to helping the pair select their optional upgrades. This included organising a visit to Cavanna @ Elm Park on the southern outskirts of the city, as he remembered the Show Home was fitted with Jaz and Tom’s preferred carpet option.
“We couldn’t believe that Kevyn had gone to so much effort to organise for us to visit Cavanna @ Elm Park. We’ve received 5-star service from him throughout the process.” said Jaz.
The couple were thrilled to find out that their new west-facing garden would already be laid with quality seeded turf ahead of completion, so they used their garden budget to have the patio extended, “We can’t wait to have a garden party with our friends and family to celebrate moving in!” added Jaz.
In the run up to their move which is due to take place at the end of summer, Jaz has been purchasing furnishings for their home, “I absolutely had to have Smeg kettle and matching toaster for our kitchen – they were the first things I bought when we exchanged!”
She added, “My Grandma also made me a special cushion cover out of my Grandad’s shirts after he passed away a few years ago. I’m looking forward to displaying it in our home so that I know he’s there experiencing this adventure with me.”
“We are so excited to move in and extremely grateful to Kevyn for allowing us to visit the house on our days off. Being able to see our first home take shape has been brilliant.” said Tom.
Kevyn added, “I am thrilled for Jaz and Tom, and it’s been a pleasure helping them secure their first home. I’m looking forward to handing them their keys and welcoming them firmly to the Equinox neighbourhood.”
