Prestigious property awards shortlist for Cavanna Homes

Our popular Tavistock development, Broadleigh Park, has been shortlisted in the prestigious 2023 National Housebuilder Awards.

The awards, the Oscars of the construction industry, attract hundreds of nominations every year and are widely regarded as one of the premier events in the property world’s calendar.

As Cavanna Homes celebrates its centenary as a Torquay-based housebuilder, we are on the shortlist in the category: best design for three storeys or fewer. Our Broadleigh Park development, with 148 homes, is described as a “rural community of homes for local people.”

Developments across the country from Scotland to Southampton join Cavanna Homes on the eight-strong shortlist in the category, one of 13 categories which cover a wide range of the housebuilding sector.

The winners will be crowned at a black-tie awards ceremony on November 2nd at the InterContinental London, alongside the river Thames at Greenwich.

Michael Newman, Director of Land and Design, said the nomination was particularly welcome in 2023 as Cavanna Homes marks 100 years since it was founded as a quality housebuilder.

“Cavanna Homes has always made it a number one priority to build homes to the highest possible standards. The real judges of our quality workmanship are our customers,” he said.  “But awards are the icing on the cake and in our centenary year, it is especially heartening to have received this shortlisting.”

Paul Furner, Director of Sales and Marketing, said: “We are so proud to have been shortlisted for this award.  We take a team approach to our work and winning recognition like this, in the National Housebuilder Awards, is a reflection of the hard work and innovation all our staff and contractors put into our developments.”

Broadleigh Park is just a mile from Tavistock, a World Heritage site, and has been sensitively designed to be in keeping with contemporary buildings in and around the area. Residents were able to influence the final design through an extensive engagement programme.

The two to five-bedroom properties are surrounded by large and small public green spaces and are within walking distance of sports pitches, a dog walking area and the town centre.Aerial view of Broadleigh Park
